Have you ever wanted a chill Holiday book to read? Well, I do! I have committed to try and read at least one holiday read every year. There is something about cuddling up with a new book during some of the coldest months of the year, especially with a coffee. It brings me joy for sure and couple that with one of the most joyous holidays of the year and I can't help but smile. I am literally smiling right now thinking of it. I decided to borrow a holiday-themed book from the library. Lucky for me my library does Kindle books so I don't even have to leave the comfort of my own couch. I will say I learned to put a hold on a book in early November, Late October because those holiday books get swooped up quickly.

Plot: Lila Santos is the perfect daughter in her last year of high school. She works at the town's most famous inn and gift shop, made famous from the Movie: Holiday by the Lake. She is trying to save money for college so as not to have to stress out her family. She is also has a book blog focused on holiday books that she is keeping a secret from her family due to their huge concern about the internet, social media, and the consequence it can have on your life. This being her last holiday before college she is trying to balance time with her family, enjoying town events with her best friend, and working at her job. The last one becomes more difficult as the inn's owner hires a new employee for winter, Teddy Rivera. These two butt heads from the beginning, Lila being very focused and organized while Teddy seems more free and open to new ideas. One accidental phone switch at work between these two leads to so much more. Can they both be honest with themselves and share the secrets they a guarding? Can they find more in each other than they first thought?
My Thoughts: This was a sweet book! I loved how we saw these two characters grow and Tif Marcelo did a great job of reminding me of not only the pressure that comes with being the oldest child but also the joy of falling in love. This gave me all the feels and was a perfect comfort book for the holidays. I love the holiday vibes throughout the book along with how she ties things up at the ending. I truly was invested in the characters and I found that the story captured the feeling of being that pivotal college-age and having to decide what is most important to you and what it is that truly brings you joy. I give it 4/5 stars and would totally recommend this to anyone looking for a holiday romance or just a sweet ya book.
